Royal Theatre Society

If your child is in a theatre class, participates in a theatre production, or is a member of The Theatre program at the Fine Arts Academy, we would love to have you as a member of the Royale Theatre Society (RTS), McCallum’s Theatre parents’ booster club. How can you support the Royale Theatre Society? There are several ways:

1) Attend RTS meetings generally held on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm. Meetings will usually last an hour. Booster club meetings are a great way to keep informed about what is happening in the Theatre and about upcoming productions, as well as becoming aware of volunteer needs and opportunities. Please join us.

2) Join the BOOSTER CLUB's BIG TENT group to keep informed on meeting times, minutes, notices, and volunteer needs and opportunities.

3) Volunteer your time and talents. There are many options for volunteering, from selling concessions one night of a production to offering to sell tickets at each production. Whether you can share a lot or a little of your time, there is a way for you to support your student’s theatre experience. We need your help and it’s a great way to get to know other McCallum parents. Your student will appreciate your support.

4) Make a financial donation. Take the opportunity to make a financial donation to support the productions of the Theatre department. Production expenses are currently covered by about $3000 allotted by AISD and by ticket sales and ads. This, however, only provides for a “bare-bones” budget. Financial donations (money or in-kind services) have helped McCallum’s Theatre department put on the quality shows it has over the years. These funds help provide needed technical equipment, scenery, costumes, props, special consultants/teachers, etc. Any donation is appreciated.

MacTheatre Fund

The MacTheatre Fund is a non-profit fund administered through the Austin Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) corporation. All donations to the MacTheatre Fund are deductible from federal income taxes to the full extent of the law, and go to supporting the activities, projects, and needs of the award-winning Theatre at the McCallum Fine Arts Academy in Austin, Texas.

The fund was created in 2006 by parents and local theatres to support what has become the premiere theatre education institution in Austin and in Texas. The Theatre at McCallum Fine Arts Academy, while part of a diverse and eclectic public high school, receives NO SPECIAL FUNDING from the Austin Independent School District. The McCallum Fine Arts Academy and especially the Theatre at the McCallum Fine Arts Academy is supported solely through the grass roots efforts and donations of the community.

The MacTheatre Fund was established to initially serve these needs, but also as a continuing fund to assist the theatre in the future and to support high school theatre education in Austin.

Your assistance is desperately needed. Every dollar you donate will go to allowing an Academy student to meet his or her potential. There are no administration fees for the fund other than credit card fees charged by the credit card companies.
