Bio
Ricky Ramón recently earned a Master of Education degree in the Arts
in Education program at Harvard University’s Graduate School of
Education. In 2006, Mr. Ramón earned a previous Master of Arts degree
in Performance Studies from New York University’s Tisch School of the
Arts. He also has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting/Directing from
Texas Tech University. Prior to his graduate studies, Mr. Ramón
received his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and English from the University
of Notre Dame in 1999. A native of south Texas, Mr. Ramón graduated
from Pearsall High School in 1995, where he was Salutatorian of his
senior class. After graduating from Notre Dame, Mr. Ramón returned to
his hometown where he taught in Pearsall for two years. While at
Pearsall, Mr. Ramón worked as the Theater Arts Director for both the
Junior High and High School, and he directed the High School One-Act
Play company to its first UIL area competition in years. After earning
his MFA from Texas Tech in 2003, Mr. Ramón moved to the Ft. Worth area
to continue teaching. He was the Theatre Arts Director for two years at
Alvarado High School in Alvarado, Texas. While at Alvarado, Mr.
Ramón’s students advanced to the UIL State and Regional levels in UIL
Prose & Poetry Interpretation and UIL One-Act Play. Mr. Ramón won
Teacher of the Year honors in 2005 for his hard work and numerous
achievements with the theatre arts department at Alvarado High School. |
